Issue 1:
August 2010

The inaugural issue addresses a serious issue that has been the cause of many a vitriolic exchange: superheroes. Beyond the insanely cool gadgets and flashy capes, what makes a superhero? Our answer, quite simply, was strapping the community into a cherry red Radio Flyer wagon and pushing it down a fresh path. The way may be different for each of our three subjects, but the intention and inimitable character they bring to their efforts are consistent.

San Louie is the magazine for people in the know. It’s a quarterly publication available both in print and online, created by San Luis Obispo residents who are invested in their community and its cultural well-being. It’s for people who love to read but also appreciate the respite of a provocative illustration or beautifully rendered map. San Louie explores the cultural, artistic, and scientific goings-on relevant to San Luis Obispo while paying homage to its rich past. We respect our readers and hold dear the belief that small towns cater to big minds.
